Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a diverse ethnic background. Jacqueline's father Elroy is Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. She has two younger brothers and a older sister. The reason for this was the war that raged in Sri Lanka that the family chose to move to Bahrain. Following her education in Bahrain and after that, she received a Scholarship to pursue a degree at the University of Sydney, where she completed a bachelor's degree in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. To further develop her interest in the world of languages, cultures and languages she enrolled in the Berlitz language schools in order to study Spanish in addition to improving French and Arabic. In 2006, she won Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006. She also participated at Miss Universe 2006. As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone started her career as a TV host. She was the host of the program Lanka Business Report which focused on the business of Sri Lanka. Padukone's father was a badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has had a childhood in Copenhagen and Bangalore. When she was a teenager she competed at national-level badminton competitions, but quit the sport and became a designer. Padukone has Mangalorean roots and speaks Konkani as her primary language. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone's father was an international champion in badminton who is retiring. The mother of the child is a traveling agent.
